Biography

Sigridur Hrund is a professional businesswoman and an entrepreneur living in Iceland. She is currently a presidential candidate in Iceland with election day June 1st, 2024. She is an investor, investing directly/indirectly as an Angel Investor, especially in female inventors. She is also the former Chairwoman of the Association of Woman Business Leaders in Iceland - an Association that gathers almost 1500 women from all over the country with the purpose of networking, enhancing diversity and visibility of women business leaders in Iceland www.fka.is. She is now serving FKA as a member of the Association’s International Committee. She is a Board Member of the Association of Women in Higher Education in Iceland www.felaghaskolakvenna.is Sigridur Hrund has owned and operated several businesses throughout her professional life but also been a Strategist & Quality Control Consultant before making the transition from being an employee to being a business owner and an employer. Furthermore, she is an active member of BPW International (Business Professional Women), serving now as a member of the Innovation Committee of BPW in Reykjavik, Iceland https://www.bpw-international.org/. Charity work from various perspectives is a permanent part of Sigridur’s life, she educates young children about innovation & entrepreneurship, takes an active part in local parish community as well as in the activities of her children. Sigríður Hrund has an MBA, M.Sc. in Strategy and Business Administration, B.A. in French. She has four children (20, 20, 14 and 10 years) and a marriage of 28 years to her husband Baldur, Master in Carpentry, entrepreneur and investor.
